Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) updated its naked roadster, the 2022 Honda CB300R, in the country at a price of ₹ 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), with a BS6 compliant engine, minor cosmetic updates, and an enhanced features list. Showcased at the India Bike Week 2021, the new made in India, 2022 Honda CB300R will be retailed through the brand’s premium BigWing dealership network. The refreshed Honda CB300R is offered in two colors – Matte Steel Black, and Pearl Spartan Red. Previously, the Honda CB300R used to be assembled in India, and now it’s locally produced.

The biggest change on the 2022 Honda CB300R is the updated BS6 engine.

Atsushi Ogata, MD, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Further reinstating our customers’ trust & Honda’s commitment towards them, the 2022 CB300R is finally here. Since its introduction, it has held high standards of engineering. With distinctive features and dynamic road presence, we are confident customers will be delighted with the new CB300R.”

In terms of styling, not much has changed from the previous iteration, however, the 2022 Honda CB300R now features a black headlamp bezel, golden-colored upside-down front forks, and a darker radiator cowl. The 4-pot radial-mounted calipers with 296mm hub-less floating disc for front brakes and 220mm rear disc brake are modulated by dual-channel ABS which works on Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) for uniform front to rear ABS braking, optimum body weight distribution, with minimal rear lift due to sudden braking.

The 2022 Honda CB300R was showcased at the India Bike Week 2021.

As far as the mechanicals go, the 2022 Honda CB300R is powered by a BS6-compliant 286cc DOHC 4-valve liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with PGM-FI technology. It is equipped with Assist & Slipper clutch providing an assist function for clutch operations requiring less load compared to a regular clutch mechanism, while the slipper function reduces shocks caused by sudden engine braking during downshifts. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
